Are Liverpool genuine title contenders?

Following a convincing 4-1 league victory against Capital One Cup semi-finalists Sunderland, Liverpool are now just four points off Chelsea in first place, while also now the highest scorers in the division – overtaking Man City’s 69 goals.
Unbeaten in their last eight games – taking 20 points from 24 – Brendan Rodgers’s men are being tipped as genuine contenders for the 2013/14 Premier League title as a result of their fine form. Scoring 26 league goals in 2014 now has the bookmakers giving the Reds a better chance of winning the league crown than Arsenal, who are still currently three points clear of the Merseyside giants.
Liverpool have lost just once at home all season, and their last Anfield loss was all the way back in September – a 1-0 defeat to Southampton. Ironically, the Saints are the one of the two top-half sides Liverpool have to face away from home until the end of the season – Manchester United the other.
Many pundits feel that facing Tottenham, Manchester City, and Chelsea with home advantage will give Liverpool the edge in the title race come May. But can they deliver?
