Lincoln 13/10 to beat Bradford City in Tuesday’s EFL Cup tie
Competition: EFL Cup
Market: Lincoln win
Odds: 13/10 @ 888sport
Two sides turning their attentions to EFL Cup duties in midweek, Lincoln will make the trip to a Bradford side who have struggled to find their feet this summer.
Starting with the hosts, opening the new League Two campaign with a 0-0 stalemate against Colchester, Bradford have struggled to make much of an impact since returning to action this summer. Signing off the extended 2019/2020 campaign by losing three of their final four fourth-tier contests, they have also managed to win just one of their four matchups since the restart. Losing three of their last four meetings against Tuesday’s guests, it should also be noted that Bradford have remarkably recorded just three wins in their last 17 matchups across all competitions continuing on from last season. Failing to find the net in back-to-back appearances, the hosts could be in for another tricky test in midweek.
As for the visitors, opening up the 2020/2021 campaign with what was an impressive 2-0 victory against fellow play-off hopefuls Oxford United over the weekend, Lincoln have really enjoyed a bright summer run. Along with their penalties victory over Scunthorpe in the EFL Trophy earlier in the month, the Imps find themselves in the midst of a three-match winning run across all formats and have also lost just one of their previous seven appearances continuing on from last season. More impressive, collecting four wins in their five summer outings, it should also be noted that Lincoln have bagged at least a pair of strikes in each of that quartet of victories. Given their thumping record against Tuesday’s hosts and their recent purple patch, we’re backing an away victory in midweek.
