Juventus’ Arturo Vidal 2/1 to join Manchester United this summer

Juventus and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal is reportedly the subject of a lucrative offer having been put in by Manchester United, but there’s not word on whether it will be accepted.

Vidal, 27, has enjoyed a successful last few seasons with the Serie A club, winning three consecutive league crowns with the Old Lady. He’s been at the heart of their success, most notably last season where he contributed to 20% of their league goals in 2013/14.

But it’s not just going forward where Vidal has been effective. His defensive attributes have been among the best in the world. The Chilean made a staggering 130 tackles, while creating 47 chances. It’s easy to see why Manchester United are so keen on signing him, but his asking price will prove a stumbling block.

Juventus want around £50M for Vidal, but 888 Sport are still giving odds of 2/1 for the 27-year-old to make the move to Old Trafford this summer, as manager Louis van Gaal has made him signing a priority to strength United’s midfield.
