Japan 7/4 to see past Ivory Coast in tomorrow morning’s Group C clash

Posted June 14th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: World Cup
Market: Japan to win against Ivory Coast
Odds: 7/4 @ Coral

Japan will look to kick start their World Cup campaign by beating a very strong Ivory Coast side in the early morning kickoff. Managed by Alberto Zaccheroni, Japan are boasting a very good squad for this summer’s tournament.

The usual suspects of Nagamoto, Yoshida, Uchida, Endo, Honda, Kagawa, Kiyotake and prolific striker Okazaki are all expected to start against the Ivorians. But the African side will have their own stars on show too, with the Toure brothers Yaya & Kolo, Aurier, Tiote, Zokora, Kalou, Drogba, Gervinho, and Bony – who is likely to be on the bench.

While both teams boast talented players, their form has been very different of late. Japan have won six of their last 10 friendlies, beating sides such as Ghana and Belgium. Ivory Coast have lost to Mexico and drew to Belgium recently.

As a result, Japan are 7/4 from Coral to get all three points against Ivory Coast to give them a valuable three points, putting them in contention of qualifying from their group.
