Italy 1/4 to Win to Nil against Liechtenstein in tonight’s World Cup Qualifier

Competition: World Cup Qualifier
Market: Italy to Win to Nil against Liechtenstein
Odds: 1/4 @ William Hill

Italy travel to the Rheinpark Stadion to face minnows Liechtenstein in tonight’s World Cup Qualifier, and are big favourites to pick up all three points to potentially go top of the group if other results go their way.

The Azzurri are currently second in Group G with seven points from a possible nine in the World Cup Qualifiers, having beaten Israel and Macedonia, while earning a credible draw with leaders Spain. Italy could leapfrog La Roja with a win tonight, and will fancy their chances of a shutout too given their own defensive record coupled with Liechtenstein’s woes at the other end.

As for the hosts, Liechtenstein are bottom of Group G without a point to their name after three games, having lost to Spain, Albania and Israel, scoring just once so far. With Italy having conceded only one goal, tonight’s game is expected to be one-sided and resulting in a shutout for the visitors. Liechtenstein can at best move a place in the table if they win, but their record suggests otherwise.

Italy are the form side and resilient at the back. Liechtenstein can’t stop losing as minnows and they’ve struggled for goals too. As a result, William Hill are giving odds of 1/4 for Italy to Win to Nil against Liechtenstein.
