Iceland 2/1 to win against Croatia in Sunday’s World Cup qualifier
Competition: World Cup qualifier
Market: Iceland to win against Croatia
Odds: 2/1 @ William Hill
Iceland welcome Croatia to the Laugardalsvöllur in Sunday’s World Cup qualifier, and are favourites to come out on top to potentially replace the visitors at the top of the group. Iceland have been in fine form of late and strong on home soil while Croatia can’t buy a win on the road.
Lars Lagerbäck’s Iceland side are currently second in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers with 10 points from five games, having won four of their previous half a dozen outings in all competitions. Iceland have won two of their last three home games and, although losing to Croatia 2-0 in the reverse fixture, could capitalise on the visitors’ woes on their travels.
Ante Čačić’s Croatia side find themselves top of the group with 13 points, having conceding just one goal in the qualifiers. However, Croatia have been poor travelers of late, failing to win in each of their last three away games, while shipping five goals in the process. They have only won two outings since November 2016 and may be for the taking as a result.
Iceland are being backed by William Hill with odds of 2/1 to win against Croatia this weekend.
