Girondins de Bordeaux travel to the Grand Stade Lille Métropole to face Lille OSC in the French Ligue 1 on Friday night, and could well pick up all three points given their bright start to the new season, compared to the poor form of the home side in recent weeks. Victory for Bordeaux could see them go third in the table if results go their way.

As for the hosts, Marcelo Bielsa‘s Lille OSC side are currently 13th in the French Ligue 1 with four points from as many games. Lille won their opener against Nantes, before suffering back-to-back defeats to Strasbourg and Caen, and most recently drawing with Angers. Three games without a win might see Lille struggle against a Bordeaux side unbeaten this season.

As for the visitors, Jocelyn Gourvennec’s Girondins de Bordeaux side find themselves fifth in the division with eight points from a possible 12, enjoying wins over Metz and Troyes while drawing with Angers and Lyon.
