Getafe 29/20 to beat Valencia in Tuesday’s Copa del Rey quarterfinal first-leg

Market: Getafe win

Odds: 29/20 @ Bet 365

Two sides who will be looking to gain an early advantage in the first leg of their Copa del Rey quarterfinal, Getafe will welcome Valencia to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, knocking out fellow La Liga outfit Real Valladolid to book their spot in the quarterfinal of this year’s Copa del Rey, Getafe have started the New Year brightly. In their 20 La Liga games this season, they have recorded eight wins, seven draws and five defeats, scoring 25 and conceding 26 in return. Entering 2019, Tuesday’s hosts hold the second best defensive record in Spain’s top-flight. With a points tally of 31, they now sit sixth in the table and will be looking to secure European football this season. As for their recent form, Getafe have lost just one of their last 11 matches across all competitions.

As for the visitors, although Valencia may have managed to battle back to overcome Segunda side Sporting Gijon earlier in the month, it doesn’t cover what has been a sluggish start for the Bats. In their 20 La Liga games this season, they have won five, drawn 11 and lost four, scoring 19 and conceding 18 in return. Entering 2019, no team lower than 14th hold a worse defensive record than the Whites. As for their recent run of form, Valencia have now recorded just one win in their last six away matches across all competitions. Given their struggles on the road, we’re backing Getafe to book an early advantage on Tuesday.
