Scotland welcome the visit of world champions Germany in Group D of the Euro 2016 qualifiers, with the hosts in desperate need of all three points to stay in contention of making next year’s finals. Chasing a top-three finish in the table, Gordon Strachan’s men have dropped points in each of their last two games, and have given themselves a mountain to climb in the group.

Victory against Germany this evening could see Scotland go level on points with second-placed Poland, but they need a number of results to go their way to boost their chances of a top-two automatic qualification spot, or at least making the playoffs in third-place. However, with the Eagles having won four on the bounce in the group, Scotland are in real trouble.

They lost to Germany in their first meeting in the group, and are underdogs once more despite having home advantage. Germany are being given odds of 4/9 with William Hill to pick up all three points to maintain their lead in the group, while potentially ending Scotland’s chances of making the finals.
