Germany 2/1 to win Euro 2016 this summer
Competition: Euro 2016
Market: Germany to win the tournament
Odds: 2/1 @ William Hill
Germany booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2016 European Championships after dispatching of Slovakia in the last-16 this summer, and the Eagles are looking in fantastic shape to go all the way, two years on after winning the World Cup.
Joachim Loew’s men topped Group C with seven points from their three games, beating Northern Ireland and the Ukraine, while drawing with Poland, who finished second in their group. Germany are yet to concede a goal in the tournament, and they are much-fancied to triumph this summer as a result.
Host nation France are the favourites with the bookmakers, while Belgium and Italy are among the top-four sides being tipped to go all the way. Germany are second in the list, but given the quality in their midfield – Mesut Ozil (Arsenal), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Sami Khedira (Juventus) – no side can likely stop them.
While far form performance, Germany look the most convincing side given how their defence is still yet to be breached in the European Championships. The Eagles have retained a lot of the squad that won the 2014 World Cup and such experience could be the difference in the Euros.
As a result, William Hill are giving odds of 2-1 for Germany to win Euro 2016 this summer to make it a World Cup and European double in their trophy cabinet.
