Former Lyon manager Remi Garde 5/2 to become the next Newcastle manager
Competition: Premier League
Market: Remi Garde to be next Newcastle manager
Odds: 5/2 @ 888 Sport
With Alan Pardew having left Newcastle to become manager of Crystal Palace, the North-East club are now looking for a replacement. The likes of Steve McClaren (Derby County) and former Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood have been linked with the vacancy, but ex-Lyon manager Remi Garde is said to be the no.1 choice.
Spending three years with the French Ligue One club between 2011 and 2014, winning 60 of their 117 games played, Garde won two trophies during his time with Lyon. He’s highly regarded, and would be an ideal choice to help communicate with Newcastle’s growing French contingent.
Newcastle are giving little away as to what their plan is for going forward, but they won’t want to be longing out the process, as they don’t want to further harm their season due to off-the-field distractions.
Despite a lot of names in the hat to become the next manager of Newcastle United, 888 Sport are giving odds of 5/2 for Remi Gardy to be the next man at the helm, with the 48-year-old currently seeking a new position, while boasting years of Premier League experience as a player.
