Sunderland have a chance to officially confirm their Premier League safety when they face West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night. The Black Cats have won their last three games in the league, beating Chelsea & Manchester United in the process.

Gus Poyet’s side need just a point to confirm their safety, which will send Norwich City out of the league as a result. West Brom haven’t been in bad form themselves, winning three and drawing two of their last eight league games, and they beat Sunderland 3-0 when the two sides locked horns in September.

But Betfair is giving Sunderland odds of 20/21 to get the three points they need to retain their Premier League status for another season. It’s been a miraculous turnaround by Poyet’s men, after picking up an unlikely 10 points from their last four games to claw their way out of trouble against the odds.

West Brom have already confirmed their safety so there’s always the risk they will take their foot off the gas in Wednesday’s game, which Sunderland will be looking to take advantage of.
