Bournemouth are enjoying a brilliant start to the season, with the Cherries sitting in a lofty 1st place as Christmas approaches. Eddie Howe’s side have been full of goals, scoring 11 in their last two league games, while netting a total of 50 for the campaign – 10 more than second-highest scorers Derby county.

Only Ipswich Town have lost less games (3) than Bournemouth (4), and the Cherries show no signs of slowing down. They are only one point clear at the summit, so their job is far from done. The likes of Ipswich (2nd), Brentford (3rd), Middlesbrough (4th) and Derby County (5th) are all pushing for an automatic promotion place, and will provide competition for the league leaders.

Bet 365 are, however, giving odds of 5/6 for Bournemouth to earn promotion to the Premier League. They are on course to top the pack come May, but promotion is a real possibility from their performances shown this season. There are plenty of games to go, an as things stand Bournemouth can keep their place at the summit.
