FC Porto 13/10 to win against AS Roma in tonight’s Champions League qualifier

FC Porto welcome AS Roma to the Estádio do Dragão for the first leg of tonight’s Champions League playoff clash, and are slim favourites to come out on top on home soil against a Roma outfit who could be short of competitive match practice.

Porto have already started their new league season, and won their opening game convincingly 3-1 away to Rio Ave, to go top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Porto boasted a 70% win ratio on home soil in the league last season, and could cause Roma problems as a result.

As for the visitors, AS Roma are yet to play a competitive game and could be exploitable on the road. The Italian Serie A were strong away from home in the last 12 months, but they will face a strong Porto side, while still coping with the loss of a key player from the side this summer.

Roma could make it through the Champions League playoffs by virtue of winning the second leg on home soil, but they could well come unstuck at the Estádio do Dragão tonight. William Hill are giving odds of 13/10 for Porto to win against Roma in this evening’s qualifier.
