Everton’s Roberto Martinez 11/1 next manager to exit post
Competition: Premier League
Market: Roberto Martinez next manager to exit his post
Odds: 11/1 @ Betfair
Everton manager Roberto Martinez finds himself under intense pressure following a poor campaign in his second season. The Spanish coach led the Toffees to their highest points tally in the league upon his arrival from Wigan Athletic, but has since struggled to hit the same heights.
The Blues are currently 12th in the Premier League table after 22 games, and are closer to the relegation zone than they are to a top-half position. With no league win in their last six, while having recently been knocked out of the FA Cup for their troubles too, Martinez finds himself on the brink.
Club chairman Bill Kenwright in a patient man, but his hand will be forced if he feels the future of the Merseyside club under threat as a result of Martinez. Everton are 19 points worse off this season than they were in 2013/14, and the squad has changed little since then too.
As a result, Betfair are giving odds of 11/1 for the 41-year-old to be the next Premier League manager to exit his post this season. He’s not the only one in trouble, however, with Steve Bruce (Hull City), Paul Lambert (Aston Villa) and Harry Redknapp (Queens Park Rangers) also struggling.
