Espanyol travel to El Molinón to face Sporting Gijon in the Spanish La Liga tonight, and could well come away with all three points given the contrasting form between the two sides. Gijon are fighting for survival but can’t buy a win of late, while Espanyol are in great shape and have momentum on the road too.

Sporting Gijon are currently 18th in the Spanish La Liga table with 23 points from 33 games this season, coming off the back three defeats and two draws from their last five. Gijon haven’t been too good on home soil either, suffering three defeats from their previous four at El Molinón, and could well come unstuck this evening as a result.

As for the visitors, Quique Sánchez Flores’ Espanyol side find themselves ninth in the division with 49 points, having won three of their last five games. Espanyol have picked up four points from their previous three away games ahead of today’s meeting, and could well move up a place in the table with victory over Gijon.

William Hill are giving odds of 5/2 for Espanyol to win against Sporting Gijon this evening to potentially leapfrog Eibar in the table.
