England’s Euro 2016 campaign begins in nine days, and the Three Lions are desperate to get off to a bright start in Group B to boost their hopes of qualifying as winners. Topping their group will earn them an easier draw in the next round, heightening their chances of making it past the last-16.

England reached the quarter-finals of the 2012 European Championships, and that will be the benchmark for manager Roy Hodgson this time round too. Expectations are low for the Three Lions, but the squad are more than strong enough to top their group – comprising of Russia, Slovakia and Wales.

They will be adequately challenged throughout the group campaign, however, so it won’t be a walkover. Russia are no slouches, and Slovakia have pulled off impressive scalps on route to qualifying and in international friendlies.

Their meeting against rivals Wales is sure to be valiantly fought from start to finish too, but England are favourites to rule the roost after their three group games. William Hill are giving odds of 5/6 for England to win Group B in Euro 2016 as a result.
