Derry City 3/10 to win against Longford in Friday’s Irish Airtricity League clash

Posted July 14th, 2016 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Irish Airtricity League
Market: Derry City to win against Longford
Odds: 3/10 @ William Hill

Derry City welcome Longford to Brandywell for Friday’s Irish Airtricity League clash, and are big favourites to come out on top to narrow the gap to league leaders Dundalk. Derry have been strong at home, while struggling Longford have suffered poor results away. As a result, this week’s meeting is likely to be a one-sided affair.

Derry are currently third in the Irish Airtricity League with 31 points from 17 games. They risk being overtaken in the table by fourth-placed Shamrock if results go against them on Friday, but will be confident of delivering given their impressive home form ahead of the meeting at Brandywell.

The hosts boast two wins from their last three in their own backyard and welcome a Longford side currently propping up the table. The visitors are bottom of the league with just eight points from a possible 54. They have lost four of their last five, have won just once in 18 games, and have conceded more than two goals per away game.

As a result, William Hill are backing Derry City with odds of 3/10 to come out on top to Longford at Brandywell on Friday.
