Derby County 7/10 to beat Carlisle in Capital One Cup clash tonight

Championship side Derby County have League Two club Carlisle United in the Capital One Cup first round clash tonight. The Rams are unsurprisingly the favourites for victory, and have been given odds of 7/10 by Bet 365 to win in 90 minutes.

Managed by Steve McClaren, Derby only made it to the third round of last season’s cup competition, before getting knocked out by Midlands rivals Leicester City. In 2012/13, they lost to Scunthorpe United in the early rounds on penalties, so Derby don’t have the best record in the Capital One Cup in recent years. They will name a somewhat weakened eleven for tonight’s game too.

Carlisle, however, have an even worse record. The side have won just two Capital One Cup games in 90 minutes in the last four years, so they aren’t being expected to spring a surprise. United were relegated from League One last season, while Derby were on the cusp of promotion to the Premier League.
