Defending champions Anderlecht 8/11 to win the Belgian Jupiler League
Competition: Jupiler League
Market: Anderlecht to win the title
Odds: 8/11 @ Betfair
Winning three league titles in a row, RSC Anderlecht are being tipped to finish top of the table again this season. The Belgian giants are currently second, with maximum points from their two opening games. They have a young squad, with an average age of 22.5, but do have talented individuals to help in their quest for the title.
18-year-old striker Aleksandar Mitrovic scored 13 goals in 23 games last season to help Anderlecht to their 33rd league crown, while experienced midfielder Sacha Kljestan scored eight goals to play his part too.
They had a tight defence too, keeping a clean sheet in 43% of their 30 games before the playoffs. Anderlecht also conceded just 10 goals at home in 2013/14.
Betfair are giving odds of 8/11 for the Belgian side to win the title, but last season they finished third before the playoffs, so they weren’t at their consummate best for the majority of 2013/14. They nevertheless remain the team to beat, with the likes of Club Brugge, Standard Liege and Zulte-Waregem to provide stiff competition in the race for the title.
