Crystal Palace 10/11 to get a result against ‘Remy-less’ Newcastle
Competition: Premier League
Market: Crystal Palace to win or draw against Newcastle
Odds: 10/11 @ William Hill
With Crystal Palace having the worst record against top half sides, and having the joint-worst away record in the Premier League this season, it would be foolish to back them for anything but a defeat against Newcastle.
However, the Magpies will be without a number of key figures that could well see Tony Pulis’ men spring a surprise this weekend. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is serving his second of three stadium bans imposed to him for the head-butting incident, while striker Loic Remy and defender Mathieu Debuchy are both sidelined through injury.
Newcastle haven’t won in the league or even scored if the Frenchman hasn’t featured. They have played six matches with Remy being unavailable this season, and have lost 5 of them – drawing the 6th 0-0 – failing to score a goal in any.
Coupled with Pardew’s absence, it promises to be a difficult end for the North-East side, and with Pulis’ men looking to fight off relegation, they could well spring a surprise against Newcastle. William Hill are backing the Eagles with odds of 10/11 for Palace to either win or draw this weekend.
