With the knockout stages of this summers World Cup finals underway, Group D winners Croatia facing off against Group C runners ups Denmark at Stadion Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday evening. Given The Blazers eye-catching form, we are backing Croatia to progress to the quarter-finals.

For Croatia, although they finished second in their European qualifying campaign, with the best defensive record, The Blazers thumped Greece in the play-off and have carried on their impressive form since. In Group D this summer, Croatia won all three of their matches and finished five points clear of Argentina in second. Scoring seven goals and conceding just one in return, Croatia have now won their last four matches on the bounce, including a 3-0 win over 2014 World Cup finalists Argentina in their second group game.

As for Denmark, much like their opponents on Sunday, The Reds booked their spot in Russia after putting in an explosive performance against Ireland in their playoff. In their three matches in Group C, Denmark won one and drew two, scoring two and conceding one in return. Finishing two points behind France in the table, although they are now unbeaten in their last eight in all competitions, Denmark have struggled in the final third to produce mych quality and should struggle against a high-flying Croatia side. Along with drawing their last two matches in a row, Denmark also fell to a 2-1 defeat the last time the two nations met back in 2004.
