Corinthians travel to the Estádio Independência to face America MG in the Brazilian Serie A on Thursday morning, and are big favourites to pick up all three points given how poor the home side have been in the league of late compared to the in-form visitors.

America MG are currently propping up the Serie A table with just eight points from 11 games. The home side have lost four of their last five games ahead of their clash with Corinthians, but could move two places up the table with an unlikely win.

As for the favourites, visitors Corinthians are fourth in the league with 19 points. They have won two of their last three, and could end Thursday level on points with Palmeiras at the summit if results go their way.

While at times unconvincing on the road, America MG have been the whipping boys in the Serie A this season, suffering defeat in seven of 11 league games, and William Hill are giving odds of 23/20 for Corinthians to win against MG this week as a result.

Victory could see their title bid firmly on track with plenty of games remaining, but defeat will see the deficit widen.
