Colombia 4/6 to beat Japan in Tuesdays World Cup showdown
Competition: World Cup
Market: Columbia win
Odds: 4/6 @ Bet 365
Looking to make their own statement in Group H, a star-studded Colombia squad will make their first appearance at this summers finals when they face off against Japan at the Mordovia Arena.
For Colombia, while they may have left it late in their South American qualifying campaign, The Yellows booked their spot in Russia in the final round of matches and are tipped by many as a favorite to secure one of the round of 16 positions. Only losing five of their 18 matches during qualifying, Colombia finished with the third-best defensive record and finished with a one-point advantage over fellow finalists Peru. As for their recent form, The Yellows are now unbeaten in their four international friendlies and their defensive record has continued to shine. Columbia have now kept a clean sheet in three of their last four and also secured a 4-1 win over Japan at the 2014 World Cup finals.
As for Japan, while they may have impressed during their own qualifying campaign and managed to top Group B with a single point advantage over fellow finalists Australia and Saudi Arabia, Japan have drastically struggled with their preparations for the finals. Although they are coming off the back of a 4-2 win over Paraguay, Japan have failed to win any of their other five international friendlies and lost four of those outings. Japan have also only recorded one clean sheet in their last 13 and have also conceded two goals in their last four matches on the bounce.
