Colombia 29/20 to win against USA in Sunday’s Copa America third/fourth place playoff
Competition: Copa America
Market: Colombia to win against USA
Odds: 29/20 @ William Hill
Colombia travel to the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona to face host nation USA in the Copa America Centenario third/fourth place playoff on Sunday morning, and are favourites to come out on top to end the tournament on a high.
Colombia suffered a semi-final defeat to defending champions Chile, but had enjoyed a decent tournament ahead of their exit in the last-four. Colombia finished second in Group A, level on six points with winners USA, of whom they beat when the two sides locked horns in the opening game.
A penalty shootout win against Peru in the quarter-finals saw Colombia into the semis, but that was as far as their journey went. As for the USA, Jurgen Klinsmann’s side enjoyed a narrow win over Ecuador after their triumph in Group A, but were thrashed by a rampant Argentina side.
Given the host nation suffered defeat to Colombia in the group stages, there’s the risk of history repeating itself. The USA will want to end the tournament on a high in front of their own supporters, but the quality of the opposition means it won’t be easy.
Colombia are favourites to win at the University of Phoenix Stadium, and William Hill are giving odds of 29/20 for the South American giants to deliver.
