Club Brugge are slowly running away at the top of the Belgian league. They have won their last three games on the bounce in the division, and are currently four points clear of their competition. No side has lost less games than them this season, and no side have conceded less goals.

Such an impressive defensive record and resilience has been the reason for their title-chasing campaign, while individual players have played their part too. Forward Jose Izquierdo has 10 goals in 16 league starts, while teammate Tom De Sutter has just one goal less from 15 starts. Goals have been shared through the team too, but their forwards’ form has been vital to keep Brugge at the top.

KAA Gent and Anderlecht are in second and third place respectively, bur Brugge are showing little signs of slipping up in the league. As a result, Ladbrokes are giving odds of 1-1 for the Blauw-Zwart to go all the way in the title race. It’s been 10 years since they last took down the league crown, but currently look on course to end the long wait.
