Chris Hughton 1/3 to be appointed next Brighton manager

Posted December 30th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Championship
Market: Chris Hughton to be next Brighton manager
Odds: 1/3 @ Coral

Brighton are currently managerless following the departure of Sami Hyppia. The Seagulls are struggling in the Championship too, level on points with Millwall in the relegation zone, but they are safe for now. Albion recently earned their first win in eight games, but their job is far from done.

They are looking for a manager with Championship experience, who can not only keep them in the second tier, but can push them higher up the table. Such a search sees former Newcastle, Birmingham and Norwich manager Chris Hughton in the frame to become the new Brighton boss.

He’s currently unattached following a failed spell with the Canaries, but is looking for employment, and would be regarded as a safe choice, due to his penchant for organisation. Brighton certainly have a lot of work to do, but a positive appointment would see the confidence back in the club.

Defeats and draws have been commonplace, but a manager such as Hughton would see the side rectify their defensive record which could see them picking up results. Less than half the season remains, and the decision on their new manager is expected to be made soon.
