Chile 4/9 to comfortably see past Australia in their opening World Cup group game

Competition: World Cup
Market: Chile to win against Australia
Odds: 4/9 @ Betfair

Chile are huge favourites to beat Australia when the two nations meet on Friday. The South American outfit have been in fine form ahead of their World Cup group game, winning four of their last seven against sides which included England & Egypt.

Influential Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal will be out of action for Chile, and Australia will be without Josh Kennedy (back) who’s injured.

As for Australia, they’ve lost four out of their last six games, while failing to score in half of them. The Socceroos have some important names in the lineup, with leading goalscorer Tim Cahill (NY Red Bulls) to spearhead the attack, while midfielder Miles Jedinak (Crystal Palace) will be pivotal for breaking up the play.

But Chile have the likes of Gary Medel (Cardiff), Mauricio Isla (Juventus) and Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona) to contend with, which has led Betfair to give them odds of 4/9 to get all three points against Australia as a result.
