Chicago Fire 5/4 to win against San Jose Earthquakes in Saturday morning’s MLS clash

Posted July 1st, 2016 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: MLS
Market: Chicago Fire to win against San Jose
Odds: 5/4 @ William Hill

Chicago Fire welcome San Jose Earthquakes to Toyota Park on Saturday morning in the MLS, and are big favourites to pick up all three points given the contrasting form between the two sides. Both sides are struggling, but Chicago have been good at home while San Jose have suffered on the road so Saturday’s clash could go the way of the hosts.

Chicago Fire are ninth in the Easter Conference with 11 points from 14 games. They have gone three games without a win, suffering two consecutive defeats, but their results in their own backyard have been much improved. Two wins and two draws at Toyota Park sees Chicago boasting threat at home, and opponents San Jose might come unstuck as a result.

The visitors are seventh in the Western Conference with 22 points from 16 games, but their recent form has been woeful. Without a win in their last five games, while having failed to win at all on the road this season, San Jose could be in trouble upon their trip to face Chicago. A win could see them into the playoffs, but their recent form suggests a defeat is on the cards.

Chicago Fire will be rooted the foot of the Eastern Conference regardless of Saturday’s result, but William Hill are giving odds of 5/4 for the home side to come out on top against their travel-sick opposition.
