Chelsea’s Petr Cech 3/4 to stay at Stamford Bridge this season despite Thibaut Courtois return

Competition: Premier League
Market: Cech to stay at Chelsea
Odds: 3/4 @ 888 Sport

With Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech making it clear that he won’t settle for being the club’s second-choice between the sticks next season following the return of Thibaut Courtois from his three years loan spell with Atletico Madrid, and manager Jose Mourinho having devised a plan to keep both ‘keepers happy, it does appear that Cech will stay at Stamford Bridge this season.

The long-serving goalkeeper will reportedly become the vice-captain at the London club following the release of Frank Lampard, and Mourinho has made it clear that he wants to keep both at the club. However, who will be called upon to play in the Premier League most of the time remains to be seen.

“My situation for the season is fantastic. To have Cech and Courtois means we have the best young goalkeeper in the world and one of the top three or five most experienced keepers. For me and Chelsea, it’s perfect. I’m so happy with the situation,” he said.

Cech is being given odds of 3/4 from 888 Sport to stay with Chelsea this season, and despite his advancing age, his form hasn’t been in doubt – winning the Golden Glove for most clean sheets in 2013/14.
