Chelsea to earn bragging rights in London derby against Tottenham this weekend

Posted March 6th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Chelsea to beat Tottenham
Odds: 8/13 @ Ladbrokes

Tottenham have the impossible task of trying to end Chelsea’s unbeaten home record when the two sides meet this weekend. Manager Jose Mourinho could effectively end Tottenham’s fledgling hopes of a top-4 finish if they can get all three points at home on Saturday.

Ladbrokes are backing the Blues with odds of 8/13 for Chelsea to get the win, and given their head-to-head record, the evidence points to yet another Chelsea victory at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have never lost to Tottenham at home in the Premier League. Their last defeat to Spurs was all the way back in 1990.

Tottenham have a difficult enough task beating them on their own home soil, with Tim Sherwood’s men winless against the Europa League holders at White Hart Lane since 2010.

And this Saturday promises to be a disappointing evening for the travellers. Chelsea currently have the best home record in the Premier League, with 38 points from a possible 42 this season. The last time Mourinho’s men lost at home in the league was against Queens Park Rangers in early January last year.

Will Chelsea continue their unbeaten home record against Tottenham?
