Celtic 4/9 to win SPL opener against St Johnstone tonight

After their Champions League defeat, and reinstatement due to Legia being expelled for fielding an ineligible player, Celtic are now hoping to get back to normality with a win in their first league game of the new season.

The SPL holders have had a bad start to 2014/15, but they have a chance to ensure their league campaign gets off to a perfect start by beating St Johnstone in tonight’s game. Last season, Celtic beat St Johnstone twice in the league, while drawing their third meeting.

Bet 365 are giving odds of 4/9 for the Bhoys to get all three points this evening, but Celtic could well be nervy after a poor start in their European fixtures. Manager Ronny Deila is already feeling the pressure of the job, but the expectation for Celtic to deliver the title is overwhelming.

Deila’s predecessor Neil Lennon lost just one league game in 2013/14, so the supporters are expecting another league dominance despite the managerial change.
