Celtic 2/5 to beat Rosenborg in Thursdays Champions League qualifying clash
Competition: Champions League qualifying
Market: Celtic win
Odds: 2/5 @ Bet 365
Looking to move one step closer to booking their spot in next seasons Champions League, Brendan Rodgers side will welcome a managerless Rosenborg side to Celtic Park on Thursday night.
Starting with the hosts, after enjoying another stellar year in the Scottish Premiership, the defending champions will enter Thursday’s contest as an overwhelming favorite. After 38 games last season, The Hoops won 24, drew 10 and lost just four, scoring 73 and conceding 25 in return, the hosts held both the best attacking and defensive record in the division. After pulling off their second triple winning season on the bounce, Celtic have now won their last five pre-season matches on the bounce and have now conceded just one goal in those five outings.
As for Rosenborg, although the Norweigan side are enjoying a fine run of form in the Elitserien this year, the visitors shockingly sacked their long-standing manager and their are rumors of a player revolt. In their 16 domestic games this year, Rosenborg have won 10, drew three and lost three, scoring 26 and conceding 11 in return. While they have now won four of their last five matchups in all competitions, the visitors did lose their first qualifying match against Valur and given the problems behind the scenes, we expect this to be a tough evening for the Norwegian outfit.
