After an emphatic 4-1 victory against Everton in the FA Cup quarter-finals, Arsenal have a great chance to finally end their long-running trophy drought, which has stretched to nine years. The FA Cup semi-final draw won’t be until tomorrow, but the Gunners are the second favourites to win the competition, with Betfair giving odds of 14/5.

Manager Arsene Wenger always maintains his side can challenge for the major trophies every season, and now his men are just one game away from reaching the FA Cup final. Their last trophy was the 2005 FA Cup, and since then the Londoners have failed on the big stage season after season.

Manchester City remain the big favourites to win their second trophy of the campaign, but Arsenal are desperate to prove to the fans they are still a top side in the country, and to convince manager Arsene Wenger to sign a new deal in the summer to extend his stay.

They are into the semi-finals, just 90 minutes away from a first cup final in three years – with Birmingham City’s Capital One Cup win against them in 2011 still fresh in the minds.
