Burnley 4/7 to stay up in the Premier League this season

Posted December 27th, 2016 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Burnley to stay up
Odds: 4/7 @ William Hill

Burnley enjoyed a 1-0 win against fellow newly-promoted side Middlesbrough in Boxing Day’s Premier League meeting at Turf Moor, and now find themselves a comfortable distance from the relegation zone approaching the mid-point of the season.

Sean Dyche’s side are currently 14th in the Premier League table with 20 points from 18 games, six clear of the relegation zone. The Clarets have picked up 17 of their 18 points on home soil this season, beating the likes of Liverpool and Everton, and their latest victory over Middlesbrough was key to stay above the sides expected to be in a relegation battle.

Goals have been hard to come by for Burnley this season, but they have focused on being resilient at Turf Moor and hard to beat. The Clarets have the 12th-best defensive record in the Premier League, and have won the 8th-most amount of games this season too. Burnley have yo-yo’d between divisions in recent years, but look on course for survival as things stand.

The Clarets have picked up half of the 40 point total associated with survival in the Premier League, and as a result William Hill are giving odds of 4/7 to stay up this season.
