Burnley 4/6 to win against Accrington Stanley in tonight’s EFL Cup clash

Posted August 24th, 2016 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: EFL Cup
Market: Burnley to win against Accrington
Odds: 4/6 @ William Hill

Premier League side Burnley travel to the Crown Ground to face League Two strugglers Accrington Stanley in the second round of the EFL Cup, and are big favourites to come out on top following their bright start to the new season compared to Stanley’s early toils.

Home side Accrington Stanley are currently 18th in the League Two table with four points from as many games. They have gone three games without a win in the division, having lost twice, while conceding a league-high seven goals ahead of tonight’s EFL Cup meetings.

Despite boasting home advantage, Accrington Stanley could struggle to break down an organised Burnley backline, especially considering the visitors are coming off the back of a win and a clean sheet against Liverpool. There are three divisions separating the two sides and the gulf in class should be telling.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche will be keen to maintain the Clarets’ momentum, but he will also use tonight’s game as a chance to rest a number of first-team players. The newly-promoted Premier League outfit will be well-drilled, however, and should have enough to see past the League Two outfit.

William Hill are giving odds of 4/6 for Burnley to win against Accrington Stanley at the Crown Ground.
