Looking to mount a push for the top half of the table in the second half of the season, Brentford will welcome Hull to Griffin Park on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Brentford might have came crashing out of the FA Cup over the weekend, the Bees are enjoying an impressive run in the Championship. In their 31 matches this season, they have won 10, drawn 10 and lost 11, scoring 50 and conceding 43 in return. Now sat four points adrift of the top half of the table, no team in the lower half holds a better-attacking record than Brentford. As for their recent run of form, Saturday’s hosts have won four of their last five Championship appearances. The Bees have also won four of their last five matches at Griffin Park.

As for the visitors, while Hull City might have started the New Year in such impressive fashion, the Tigers appear to have slipped back to their old ways. In their 32 Championship games this season, they have won 12, drawn eight and lost 12, scoring 45 and conceding 42 in return. Despite briefly sitting in the playoff positions, only Hull’s goal difference sees them sit in the top half of the table. As for their recent run of results, the Tigers have won just one of their last five matches and have lost their last two appearances on the road.
