Competition: MLS

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

Two sides who open the midweek fixtures still battling it out in the Final Series hunt, Vancouver will host Minnesota in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Starting with the hosts, while Vancouver might have been disappointed to have only picked up a single point last time out, they have enjoyed what has been an impressive run of form. In their 31 MLS matchups so far this season, they have recorded 11 wins, 11 draws and nine defeats, scoring 41 and conceding 42 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 44, they open Thursday’s fixtures sat seventh in the Western Conference and holding a two-point buffer from dropping out of the Final Series spots. As for their recent run of results, despite playing out a 1-1 draw against San Jose on the road, Vancouver have lost just one of their last eight MLS matchups. Likewise, it should also be noted, the midweek hosts have seen each of their last four straight fixtures finish with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, also having to settle for their own point over the weekend, Minnesota find themselves in a very similar position to Thursday’s opponents. In their 31 MLS matchups so far this season, they have recorded 12 wins, nine draws and 10 defeats, scoring 36 and conceding 38 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 45, the Loons open the midweek fixtures sat sixth in the standings and holding just a one-point buffer over Vancouver. As for their recent run of results, last seen over the weekend playing out their own 1-1 draw against Los Angeles on home soil, the Whitecaps have lost just a pair of their previous eight MLS matchups. It should also be noted, with the midweek guests seeing three of their last four MLS contests finish with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
