Two sides who have their sights firmly set on securing a return to the Premier League this season, Sheffield United will welcome West Brom to Bramall Lane on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Sheffield United have struggled with their consistency over the past month, the Blades still remain firmly in the race for a playoff position. In their opening 21 games, they have recorded 11 wins, four draws, and six defeats, scoring 34 and conceding 24 in return. With a points tally of 37, United currently sit third in the Championship table and a win could briefly see them sit just two points adrift of the automatic positions. As for their recent form, the hosts have now won just two of their last six league outings and have recorded just one clean sheet in their last four.

As for the visitors, much like Sheffield United, West Brom also find themselves as one of the leading contenders to book an immediate return to the Premier League. In their 21 games this season, they have won 10, drawn six and lost five, scoring 44 and conceding 30 in return. While they may hold the second worst defensive record in the top-half of the table, no team in the Championship has scored more goals this season. Sat just a point adrift of Friday’s hosts, the Baggies are now unbeaten in their last five league matches. While they have scored 11 in their last five, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 13.
