Competition: MLS

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/6 @ 888sport

In a showdown between two American rivals in midweek, New York RB will host New York City in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Starting with the hosts, managing to make what was a thumping return to winning ways last time out, New York RB now have their sights set on trying to find some stability. In their 23 MLS matchups so far this season, they have recorded seven wins, five draws and 11 defeats, scoring 29 and conceding 28 in return. Managing to muster themselves a points tally of 26, they open the midweek fixtures sat 11th in the Eastern Conference and nine points adrift of breaking into the Final Series spots. As for their recent run of results, last seen landing a rampant 4-0 win away at Inter Miami, New York RB also brought an end to their three-match winless run. However, it should be noted that Thursday’s hosts have managed to win just one of their last six MLS contests on home soil, a run that stems back to the middle of June.

As for the visitors, also managing to make what was a welcomed return to winning ways last time out, New York City find themselves in a very similar position to their local rivals. However, in their 24 MLS matchups so far this season, they have recorded 11 wins, five draws and eight defeats, scoring 43 and conceding 28 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 38, they open the midweek fixtures sat third in the Eastern Conference and holding a four-point buffer from dropping out of the Final Series spots. As for their recent run of results, last seen over the weekend picking up a 2-1 victory against Cincinnati on the road, NYCFC brought an end to their own three-match winless run. It should be noted, with the Blues seeing each of their last four contests finishing with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
