Competition: USL

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/6 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the Western Conference standings, Monterey Bay will host San Antonio late on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, after slumping back to losing ways last time out, Monterey Bay find themselves firmly battling it out at the foot of the Western Conference. In their 12 USL matchups so far this season, they have recorded four wins against eight defeats, scoring 15 and conceding 29 in return. Managing to muster just a points tally of 12 and opening this weekend’s fixtures sat rock-bottom of the standings, it should also be noted that Monterey Bay hold the worst-defensive record in the division. As for their recent run of results, last seen getting hit with a 2-0 loss at home against the Oakland Roots, that result brought an end to their back-to-back USL victories. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, Saturday’s hosts have seen six of their previous seven home fixtures finish with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, also last seen watching their winning run come to an abrupt end, San Antonio will be seeking an immediate response here. In their opening 12 USL matchups so far this season, they have recorded nine wins against three defeats, scoring 19 and conceding 10 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 27, they open this weekend’s fixtures sat second in the Western Conference and with just their goal difference keeping them off of top spot. However, as for their recent run of results, last seen getting hit with a hard-fought defeat away at Sacramento Republic, San Antonio have now lost three of their last five USL contests. Likewise, it should be highlighted, with Saturday’s opponents seeing three of their last four matchups finish with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
