Two teams who have a growing reputation for their action at both ends of the pitch, Leeds will welcome Frank Lampard’s Derby side to Elland Road on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Leeds may have entered the New Year top of the Championship table, their form in 2019 has many around Elland Road concerned. In their 26 league games this season, the Whites have won 15, drawn six and lost five, scoring 44 and conceding 28 in return. Although they may hold a two-point buffer over Norwich, Leeds have now lost their last three matches across all competitions, including crashing out of the FA Cup in the third round last week. While they may hold the fourth best-attacking record in the championship, the Whites have failed to record a clean sheet in their last five outings.

As for the visitors, although Derby may still remain in pole position to secure a playoff position this season, Derby are also facing a sluggish run of form entering the New Year. In their 26 league games this season, they have won 12, drawn seven and lost seven, scoring 38 and conceding 32 in return. With a points tally of 43, they currently hold a four-point buffer in the top-six. As for their recent run of form entering 2018, Derby have now won just one of their last six matches and have seen both teams score in each of their last five appearances.
