In another MLS showdown that could see chances at both ends of the pitch, LA Galaxy will host Minnesota in the early hours of Thursday.

Starting with the hosts, last seen crashing out of the US Open Cup thanks to a shock defeat on home soil, LA Galaxy will be desperate to find a boost here. In their 15 MLS matchups so far this season, they have recorded seven wins, three draws and five defeats, scoring 18 and conceding 16 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 24, they open the midweek fixtures sat sixth in the Western Conference and holding a three-point buffer from dropping out of the Final Series spots. However, as for their recent run of results, last seen getting hit with a 2-1 loss at home against USL outfit Sacramento Republic, LA Galaxy have managed to win just a pair of their last six domestic fixtures. Likewise, it should also be noted, Thursday’s hosts have seen seven of their last eight matchups finish with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, last seen suffering what was a dreadful late collapse on their travels, Minnesota find themselves in the midst of an extended rut. In their 16 MLS matchups so far this season, they have recorded five wins, three draws and eight defeats, scoring 17 and conceding 19 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 18 and opening the midweek fixtures sat 12th in the Western Conference, they’re also five points adrift of breaking into the Final Series spots. As for their recent run of results, last seen getting hit with a remarkable late 2-1 loss away at Inter Miami, Minnesota have now lost each of their last four domestic contests on the spin. However, it should be highlighted, with Thursday’s guests seeing seven of their last eight domestic showdowns finish with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
