Desperately looking to rebuild with their new-look squad, Germany will host Serbia at the Volkswagen Arena on Wednesday night.
Starting with the hosts, after failing to get out of the group stage in last year’s World Cup, Germany were also drastically short of form in the inaugural UEFA Nations League. Relegated after finishing behind both Holland and France, the Whites have now managed to record just a single victory in their last four matches across all competitions. Germany have also begun to show some glaring concerns at the back, the former World champions have recorded just two clean sheets in their last 14 matches and have conceded two or more goals in three of their last four.
As for the visitors, while Serbia may have failed to make it out of the group stage at last year’s World Cup finals, the Reds are enjoying quite the eye-catching run of form. Since their exploits in Russia, they are unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions, winning four of those contests. While they may not have faced a similar level of opposition to Germany, Wednesday’s visitors have continued to shine in the final third. Serbia have scored six goals in their last two games and have found the net in nine of their last 11 matches.
