Looking to close the gap at the top of the Eastern Conference, DC United will host Orlando City in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Starting with the hosts, after suffering US Open Cup defeat last week, DC United will be now looking to close the gap at the top of the Eastern Conference. In their 17 MLS matches this year, they have recorded seven wins, six draws and four defeats, scoring 23 and conceding 18 in return. With a points tally of 27, they currently sit four points adrift of top spot. As for their recent run of results, DC have now won just one of their last eight matches across all competitions and have not recorded a clean sheet in any of their last seven appearances. It is also worth noting that Thursday’s hosts have seen their last seven consecutive matches end with both teams finding the net at full-time.

As for the visitors, continuing on what has been a very eye-catching run of form, Orlando City now have their sights set on securing a play-off spot. In their 15 MLS matches this year, they have recorded five wins, three draws and seven defeats, scoring 22 and conceding 21 in return. With a points tally of 18, the Purples sit five points adrift of climbing back into the top-seven. As for their recent run of results, Orlando have won four of their last five matches across all competitions and have also now won back-to-back matches on the road.
