n a matchup that could see a string of chances at both ends of the pitch, Columbus Crew will host Atlanta United in the early hours of Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was another nightmare display earlier in the week, Columbus find themselves really needing some kind of bounce here. In their 17 MLS matchups so far this season, they have recorded six wins, six draws and five defeats, scoring 19 and conceding 20 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 24, The Crew open this weekend’s fixtures sat seventh in the Eastern Conference and holding just a one-point buffer from dropping out of the Final Series places. However, as for their recent run of results, Sunday’s hosts are coming off the back of back-to-back 4-2 and 4-1 defeats against DC United and New York City. It should also be noted, along with shipping over 3.5 goals in back-to-back losses, they have also seen three of their last four home matchups finish with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, while Atlanta United might have managed to pick up a point earlier in the week, they are a side who find themselves in the midst of a real crisis. In their 17 MLS matchups so far this season, they have recorded just two wins, nine draws and six defeats, scoring 18 and conceding 23 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 15, the former champions find themselves sat 11th in the Eastern Conference and nine points adrift of finding a route into the Final Series places. As for their recent run of results, last seen earlier in the week playing out a 2-2 draw away at Montréal, Atlanta have failed to win any of their last 12 straight MLS fixtures. However, it should be noted, seeing each of their last four matchups finish with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
