In a matchup that could prove to be another lively affair in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Chile will host Bolivia in a South American World Cup qualifier.

Starting with the hosts, while Chile might have managed to snatch a point when they returned to qualifying duties last week, they have gained a reputation for their inconsistencies. In their five South American qualifiers so far, The Reds have managed to land themselves just a single victory, two draws and two defeats, scoring seven and conceding seven in return. Managing to muster themselves a points tally of five, Chile find themselves sat seventh in the table and two points adrift of finding a crucial route into the top-four. As for their recent run of results, last seen playing out a 1-1 draw against Argentina on foreign soil, Wednesday’s hosts have lost just one of their previous four qualifying matchups. However, it should be noted that Chile have seen six of their last seven contests across all formats finish with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, after ending their torrid run of form when returning to action last week, Bolivia might fancy their chances of causing a real upset in midweek. In their opening five South American qualifying contests, they have landed one win, one draw and three defeats, scoring eight and conceding 13 in return. Mustering themselves a points tally of four out of a possible 15 and sat just three points adrift of breaking into the top-four, it should be noted that no side holds a worse defensive tally so far. As for their recent run of results, last seen landing themselves a much-needed 3-1 victory against Venezuela on home soil, Bolivia brought an end to their six-match winless run across all formats. However, it should be highlighted, Wednesday’s guests have seen eight of their last nine matchups finish with both teams finding the net.
