Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the Serie A table, Atlético Goianiense will host Chapecoense on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, managing to make what was a much-welcomed return to winning ways last time out, Atlético Goianiense will be desperate to build off of that result this weekend. In their 16 Serie A matchups so far this season, they have recorded six wins, five draws and five defeats, scoring 14 and conceding 16 in return. Managing to muster themselves a points tally of 23, they open Saturday’s fixtures sat seventh in the table and with just their goal difference stopping them from breaking into the top-six. As for their recent run of results, last seen picking up a 2-1 victory against Bahia on the road, that was just the second win that Atlético Goianiense have recorded from their last 10 matchups across all formats. Likewise, it should also be highlighted that this weekend’s hosts have seen four of their last five fixtures have finish with both teams finding the net by the final whistle.

As for the visitors, while Chapecoense might have managed to pick up a scrappy point last time out, they are still tipped as a landslide relegation pick this year. In their 16 Serie A matchups so far this season, they are yet to record a single victory, with five draws against 11 defeats, scoring 13 and conceding 28 in return. Managing to muster just a points tally of five and opening this weekend’s fixtures sat rock-bottom of the standings, it should also be noted that they hold the worst-defensive tally in the division. As for their recent run of results, last seen playing out a 1-1 draw against América Mineiro on home soil, that was the first point that Chapecoense have collected from their last nine Serie A matchups. With Saturday’s guests seeing six of their last seven away fixtures finish with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
