With the Premier League table reaching the end of the season, English football’s top division remains incredibly tight at both ends of the table with just a single point seeing a team jump several places. On that note, Arsenal will know the importance of shoring up their Europa League position when they welcome West Ham to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

For the hosts on Sunday afternoon, with all their hopes for this year now fully focused on the Europa League, Arsenal have endured another difficult yeat domestically and now find themselves facing another year out of the Champions League. After 33 Premier League games this season, Arsneal have won 16, drawn six and lost 11, scoring 62 and conceding 45, this has statistically been Arsenal’s worst year under Arsene Wenger. With a points tally of 54, the North London club are now sat sixth in the table, holding just a two-point buffer over Burnley, the Gunners are now 14 points adrift of the top four. As for their recent form, coming off the back of a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle last time out, Arsenal have won three of their last five, drawing one and losing one. Defensively, Arsenal have begun to show their issues once again, they have now not kept a clean sheet in their last four in all competitions.

As for the visitors, it appears that West Ham are enjoying a second resurge under former Manchester United boss David Moyes. After 33 Premier League games, West Ham have won eight, drawn 11 and lost 14, scoring 41 and conceding 59, the Hammers boasts the second worst defensive record in the division. With a points tally of 35, West Ham now sit 14th in the table and more importantly, they now hold a six-point buffer over the drop zone with five games to play. As for their recent form, West Ham are now unbeaten in their last three outings, winning one and drawing two, the Hammers have now managed to find the back of the net at least once in 13 of their last 14.
