Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been in fantastic form in recent weeks before the Christmas break and finds himself heading the scoring charts as the German Bundesliga returns following a month off for the festive period.

Aubameyang has scored 16 goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund this season, and hasn’t gone more than a game without registering in the domestic division. His outstanding form has seen him linked with a host of European giants, coupled with the African Player of the Year crown, and he looks on course to win the Golden Boot come May.

FC Cologne’s Anthony Modeste is second in the scoring charts with 13 goals this season. Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski is third with 12 goals. Along with Aubameyang, the trio of strikers are the only players to hit double figures in the Bundesliga in 2016/17 but a three-goal lead past the mid-point of the campaign is a good position for Aubameyang to be in.

Boasting excessive pace and being in such a rich vein of form in front of goal, the Dortmund man has been clinical for some time, and as a result William Hill are giving odds of 1/2 for Aubameyang to be top goalscorer in the Bundesliga this season.
